The Power of Thanksgiving

LightSpeed of God Fellowship is a commission that greatly believes in giving thanks and doing so always. This is the reason why we set aside our time every single day of the year to give God thanks, regardless.

It is safe to say that thanksgiving has become a culture - way of life - of every true member of LightSpeed of God Fellowship.

The following books of the Bible, Ephesians 5:20; 1st Thessalonians 5:18; Psalm 100:4; Colossians 3:17 recommend giving thanks always without ceasing.

Let's explore some of the powerful effects of thanksgiving.

 Thanksgiving gives us direction

2 Corinthians 2 : 14 (NKJV) "Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ..."When we thank God because he leads us, we affirm that direction is sure.

In other words, God always gives us direction when we give him thanks. You can say boldly that I always have direction, I am led by the Spirit always because I give thanks.

We do not wait to get directions before giving thanks. NO! WE GIVE THANKS AND GET DIRECTION.

Thanksgiving saves us from being destroyed

"Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of ......." 1 Corinthians 10 : 10

It is impossible to give thanks and murmur at the same time. they can not co-exist.

If you give thanks always, you will have no reason to murmur in order to qualify for the destruction the Bible talked about in 1 Corinthians 10 : 10

Murmuring and complaining invites the devil, the destroyer, but thanksgiving frustrates this strategy and it also cripples the devil in your life. Some murmured and were destroyed by the destroyer, while some give thanks and were blessed by God. It's far better to give thanks and be saved.

Thanksgiving feeds God and starves the devil

Hebrews 13:15 ..... "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."

Thanksgiving is a fruit.—just as a mango tree produces mangoes and is fed upon by the husband man, your thanksgiving is a fruit produced by your lips which nourishes God.

Let's ask this. If you were the only person God depends on for feeding, will he starve to death?

Your thanksgiving feeds God and starves the devil. So, when you feed God and starve the devil, the devil will leave you.

The person you value, you feed continuously. That's why God is looking for true worshippers because they are ones who feed him.

Thanksgiving is a weapon for battles

In the Old Testament, people sang praises to God and they won battles.

In 2 Chronicles 20:21-22, King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah were faced with a vast army. Instead of fighting, they appointed singers to praise God and they recorded victory.

Also, the story of the fall of Jericho in Joshua 6:20, the Israelites, led by Joshua, marched around Jericho for seven days. On the seventh day, they shouted and blew trumpets, and the walls of Jericho collapsed.

Paul and Silas in prison in Acts 16:25-26 prayed and sang hymns to God. Suddenly, a great earthquake shook the prison, opening the doors and loosening their chains.
