Defeating the Enemy

It's often common to hear christians use the term "The Enemy".... While it's not just a buzzword, it begs the question: "Who's this so-called enemy"? This enemy must be real right ? A lot of people cannot be drinking from the same kool-aid to just believe a figment of their imagination right ?
However, before we dive deeply into who this "Enemy" is, it's important to note that as Christians, our primary focus is on God, the all-powerful, all-loving creator, the master of the universe to whom all earth belongs.
In a world full of chaos and uncertainty, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by our own weakness and powerlessness. But there is one source of strength that never fails, God's power. In stark contrast to our own frailty, God's power is everlasting and unshakeable 2 Chronicles 20:6
An Unshakable Truth
Before we go deep into this topic, let's be clear and be certain of one thing, as Christians, we fight from a position of victory. We are not uncertain, we are not unsure whether God will fight for us because the bible reckons that the Lord will fight for us and we shall hold our peace (Exodus 14:14). God not only fights for us, he has assured us of victory (Deuteronomy 20:4), So do not be afraid (2 Chronicles 20:15) in all things, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37)

Why Are We Talking About The Enemy
Good Question… Because Logically if we claim to have already won victory over the enemy through God, then we shouldn't have to bother about all this right ? … Well, there's an element of truth to that statement but let's consider this…
Think about your favorite sport, sports team or academic pursuit. In planning for the next match, game, context, examination, etc, what do all people who engage in the activities listed above have in common ? …..
They all prepare, study their opposition, know their opponents tactics, modus operandi, question stem, weaknesses, strengths, etc . No one who's passionate about winning and succeeding goes to a big context, match, exam, etc unprepared.
We can apply the same logic to our Christian faith especially when it comes to understanding the Devil our enemy. The bible reckons that he roams about like a roaring Lion seeking whom to devour (1 Peter 5:8) .. Take note of the phrase "like a roaring lion" … He's a pretender, a dupe, he's not strong , he just threatens and prowls … He's mimicking the real God, "THE LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH".... That being said, because we know that we wrestle not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12), we need to understand our opponent before we get into the ring.

All the enemy does is try to change our perception into believing that our current predicament is bigger than God, or beyond the power of God. There are several examples to this effect in the bible. Sennacherib threatened the people of God by proclaiming the king of Assyria was so powerful to wipe them out (2 Kings 18:17-19). But it was all a lie… The next chapter described how God dealt with the Assyrians.
How we Win
Fight with God's word: This is a battle unlike any we can comprehend. It's fierce and deadly serious. We would be unable to withstand it, and even less equipped to fight in it, except for one thing: God's Word commands us to, tells us how, and is, in fact, our most powerful weapon
Fight with Prayer: Samuel Chadwick wrote in his book, The Path of Prayer, "[the devil] fears nothing from prayer-less studies, prayer-less work, prayer-less religion. He laughs at our toil, he mocks our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray." Prayer is more powerful than we realize. When we pray, we're entering the throne room of God—and stepping onto the battlefield. Over and over in Scripture we see proof of answered prayer.
Fight with Praise: Satan can't withstand the pure praises of God's people. Praise is one of the strongest levels of spiritual warfare. When we praise God despite our circumstances, chains are broken, strongholds crushed, walls destroyed, and armies defeated. Think of Paul and Silas, praising in prison (Acts 16:25, 26). Jehoshaphat, leading his army praising into battle (2 Chronicles 20:15-24). The Israelites, praising the walls of Jericho down (Joshua 6).
Fight in Community: There are few things more powerful and moving than praying for another, and being prayed for. Joining hands and hearts with each other, and passionately interceding together is impactful, and always brings me to tears. Scripture, once again, first teaches us this truth.
In Matthew 18:20, Jesus tells us, "For where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I among them." Deuteronomy gets more dramatic and says, "Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand,"(32:30). And Ecclesiastes famously declares, "And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken"(4:12).
There's strength in the community. Our impact is multiplied as we reach out to those around us and fight this battle together.
